The story of A L I T E R does not have a single origin, it is a story with a series of happy accidents.

Benjamin Valenzuela (drummer) had recorded an album of good reception with "Running Late”, but  the members entered to med school and left their work in music for good. 

Roy De la Rocha (guitar) and Shamppy Vidal (bass) had worked on several projects together, but the other members tended to abandon the projects for different personal interests. One day, Roy and Carlos were rehearsing acoustic outside their house when some neighbors joined them and started playing for fun. So Roy asked the guests if they knew of a drummer who had an interest in a musical project. By a twist of fate, they knew Benjamin Valenzuela, they talked to him a few days later and that’s how the first rehearsals started.

Shortly afterwards, the ex-vocalist left the band because he felt he had no potential as vocalist. They were very dark days, Shamppy and Roy felt inclined to give up on their dream, but there was a force that motivated them to go ahead with it, of being able to complete the project with a very strong desire for making music. Days later, Benjamin told us "I met an interesting person, he invited me to a band but I said no. He was a singer who actually has a good voice”, then Shamppy said: ”You're saying there’s a singer without a band and we're a band without a singer. Tell him to come to audition”.

The singer who got to the audition is no one else than Sigfrid Nieves. Since the first rehearsal they felt that they had found all the elements that were missing. Not only they had similar musical ideas, but their attitudes created an excellent synergy. Sigfrid is effusive, impulsive and energetic while Roy and Shamps are very analytical and Benjamin has a very focused mindset.

Not so much time went by to notice that for the live performances they needed something. Sigfrid played the second guitar and some keyboards, but that distracted him from hist main job that is entertain the audience. So they invited Paco Ramirez to be the second guitar of the band. He quickly proved to be a key member of A L I T E R soon after being recruited.

Since then the band has participated in all kinds of events from donations for the food bank to the soundtrack (performed live) for the play "Caosas" of Grecia Cuadras. They released their first EP  on february, 2016 and their live show has received a lot of great comments for their energy on stage and their ability to project emotions through the songs.

Musically this is a band that composes rock & roll with a great influence of different styles, such as blues, EDM, metal and pop thanks to the wide range of musical influences the members have.
